One of the key responsibilities of Gender Monitoring Office is to monitor the implementation of regional and international treaties, agreements and commitments related to the promotion gender equality and women’s empowerment that Rwanda has ratified; including analyzing gaps in implementation and making recommendations for improvement.
To this end, Gender Monitoring Office is an active participant in regional and international forums.
II. Recent Accomplishments 2013/2014
- Production of the Rwanda Country Report on the implementation of the Beijing declaration and platform for action (1995): The Report details the status of and achievements in gender equality and the empowerment of women, challenges, lessons learned, opportunities and recommendations and key priorities for action.
