CSW 64 Political Declaration

This is the main outcome of the 64th session of the Commission on the Status of Women, the largest annual gathering on gender equality and the empowerment of women at the UN that gathered in New York on 9 March 2020. Members welcomed the progress made towards promoting gender equality and women empowerment, but strongly called member states to put more efforts to address persisting gender gaps. Beijing+25 Country Report

Rwanda’ report for Beijing+25 covers the period of 2014-2019 focusing on the 12 critical areas of the 1995 Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action (BDfA). The reports highlight that Rwanda has made commendable progress in promoting gender equality and empowerment of women and girls in different sectors. The report particularly reveals that women and girls are increasingly gaining control over productive resources to improve their economic status as well as access to education and health services.
